Happy New Year, Everyone!
Every year I choose one main resolution to focus on. A few years back, I decided to reduce my road rage, and it worked. This year, I am going to address the excessive daytime sleepiness that has plagued me for the last 15 years. Wish me luck!

Focus: Composition
By Jane | April 5, 2007
I was talking to my friend Dave the other night about my desire for a digital SLR. He asked me why I wanted one, and I replied that I wanted to explore photography more seriously and I thought that a DSLR would give me the control I needed to take better photographs. Dave replied that 80% of good photography is composition. He’s right.
As much as I love new gadgets, I think that I am going to concentrate my energies on learning how to take better photographs with the camera that I already own: my Canon PowerShot S230. And if I really want to go manual, then I can break out the Canon AT-1 that I took from my parents many years ago.

Snacks at checkpoint 1

Yummy oranges, fig newtons, and a banana! A fellow Cinderella was kind enough to offer to take a photo of me. My bike, a 2005 Dahon Helios SL, lies next to me. Yes, it looks really small, and no, I’m not crazy for riding it. Well, maybe I am crazy, but it worked! Many thanks to Paul for sending out the suspension seatpost. Without it, I don’t think I would have finished the ride.
